Local landmarks

Lake Toho and the Downtown Lakefront

The city sits on the northwest shore of Lake Tohopekaliga, which locals call Lake Toho or West Lake. Kissimmee Lakefront Park, a city public works project, gives downtown a public waterfront on the lake.

  • Lake Tohopekaliga: a large lake on the city's southeast edge, used for boating and fishing.
  • Kissimmee Lakefront Park: the city's public lakefront next to downtown.
  • Downtown station: Kissimmee's Amtrak station is also a stop on SunRail, the commuter rail line toward Orlando.
  • Old Town and the Monument of States: two local attractions in and near the city.

SunRail matters if you work in downtown Orlando or along the rail corridor. Living within reach of the Kissimmee station can open up a train commute. Check the current SunRail timetable before counting on it.
