Homes waited longer for a buyer, a median of 59 days compared with 43 a year earlier, even as the number of sales rose: Redfin counted 143 Minneola sales in August 2026, up from 97 in August 2025.

Much Water, and the Peninsula's High Point
The city takes its name from Lake Minneola, which settlers once called Cow House Lake. The city says the name means "much water," from Dakota words, and it was chosen by the wife of early settler George W. Hull. Minneola was founded in 1884 and incorporated in the mid-1920s.

Getting Around Minneola
Florida's Turnpike has a Minneola exit, Exit 278 at Hancock Road, which opened in June 2017 and gives the city a direct on-ramp toward Orlando and Wildwood.
